Psalm 93 begins with a declaration:
The Lord reigns.
Then come the rising waters—their roar, force and relentless waves. The psalm does not pretend they are small. It tells us that God is greater.
Faith does not require us to minimise what frightens us or act as though suffering has no weight. It calls us to see every fear beside the immeasurable power and sovereignty of God.
The waves may be mighty.
But they are not ultimate.
Paired with Menci Clement’s stormy seascape, the verse feels especially fitting. The water is restless and the sky is heavy, yet light breaks through above it all. It is not a picture of a life untouched by storms, but of a God who remains Lord in the middle of them.
The same Christ who commanded the wind and waves is not overwhelmed by anything that overwhelms us. He may not always still the storm when we ask, but He is never absent from it, defeated by it or uncertain of what lies beyond it.

Beautiful vibrant picture! I would share a picture but the frame I ordered to go with it I have to trade out. But the print is wonderful and the scripture near and dear to me and my daughter’s heart. This picture is for her bedroom. She loved it as well! Her room is white and creams. This green with the white is perfect and stands out but in a classic unique pattern with the best scripture.

A beautiful print, with the words to ‘Be Still My Soul’ underneath. The print color is exactly what I saw on the website. It is on sturdy stock, and came in a timely manner. I will order more from this company!
