The Story Behind The Print
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” — Psalm 23:1
Psalm 23 is one of the most loved passages in Scripture, perhaps because it speaks so tenderly about what it means to belong to God.
David begins not with the green pastures or quiet waters, but with the Shepherd Himself:
The Lord is my shepherd.
Everything that follows rests on those words.
The Shepherd provides, leads and restores. He knows when His sheep need rest and which paths are right, even when those paths eventually pass through the darkest valley.
Psalm 23 never promises that following God means avoiding that valley. David expects to walk through it. His confidence is that he will never walk through it alone.
You are with me.
That is what makes this pastoral painting so meaningful alongside the full psalm. The sheep do not know the whole route ahead. They simply remain near the shepherd who does.
For Christians, this image becomes even richer in Christ. Jesus calls Himself the Good Shepherd—the One who knows His sheep, calls them His own and ultimately lays down His life for them.

A beautiful print, with the words to ‘Be Still My Soul’ underneath. The print color is exactly what I saw on the website. It is on sturdy stock, and came in a timely manner. I will order more from this company!
